Delete Multiple Contacts, New Google Forms, PacMan, TED-Ed Riddles, Polling in GC, Proper Permission, Reminders, Copyright, Social Studies, Snapchat, Quiet, Recalls, Oil & Water Photos

Did you know?
There’s an easy way to delete multiple contacts on your iPhone! If you’re like me, you haven’t cleaned out your contacts since you got your first phone. Sad, I know, but it has always been a hassle and something I wouldn’t take time for. But there is hope! There’s an app to help make it easy and fast. Delete Contacts+ is free and easy to use! This app allows you to select multiple contacts and delete them all at once. It does have some filtering tools, such as “Exact Duplicates”, “No Email”, etc. I haven’t looked into those all that much. I just clicked on “Contacts” (far left, at the very bottom), then “All Contacts” (across the top), then started choosing. I was able to delete 200+ contacts in a matter of minutes. It has 4 out of 5 stars in iTunes. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/delete-contacts+/id590198443?mt=8

Google Forms - Classic vs New +Christy Fennewald  does side-by-side comparisons of some of the features/tools, visuals included! This article may help clear up any questions you have on how to find the features you’re looking for. I was sad that you no longer have as much flexibility in “themes” as far as changing fonts and colors. Maybe that will change in the future! I did submit feedback on that already. http://ow.ly/10puhs +Google for Education

You can make a PacMan game for your students using classroom content! A little old school, but that’s what makes it fun! This is available on ClassTools.net.
Good to know:
  • You’ll need a minimum of 10 questions
  • They can be single answer, but really all fall into a multiple choice format with 4 possible answers. On your single answer questions, it will pull from other answer choices you entered for other questions to fill in the other 3 answer options.
  • The correct answer has to be listed first (it will shuffle answer choices for the students)
  • I didn’t log into ClassTools, but did have to remember the password I assigned to this particular game in order to go back and edit it.
  • Here’s a quick one I did if you want to check it out: http://www.classtools.net/pac/201604_jAB4ZL
  • This is an example of how the questions and answers have to be entered:
Who was Harry Potter's best friend?*Ron*Malfoy*Cedric*Hagrid
What was Ron's last name?*Weasley
What was Hermione's last name?*Granger
What type of animal was Harry's pet?*Owl*Unicorn*Deer*Dragon
Did Hagrid live in the castle?*no*yes
How many books are the Harry Potter series?*7*4
What was the main piece of equipment for Quidditch?*broom*puck*net*helmet

Getting Proper Permission for Posting Student Pictures Online - something to think about...asking the students, each time. I need to do a better job of this, with my own family and friends. Reminders now available in Google Calendar - A new feature you may have already noticed under “My Calendars”. You can turn the “Reminders” layer on and off, just like any other calendar in that list. To add a reminder: Click on a date, Click on Reminder, Enter your information, frequency, etc. Reminders will let you cross things off of your list. They will be crossed out but still visible. Vehicle Recalls - Look-up by VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) “Owners may not always know their recalled vehicle still needs to be repaired. NHTSA's new search tool lets you enter a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to quickly learn if a specific vehicle has not been repaired as part of a safety recall in the last 15 years.” https://vinrcl.safercar.gov/vin/ Thank you +WFAA image: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takata_Corporation
