You can choose how recent you want your Google Search results to be - In a normal Google Search:
  • choose Search Tools
  • then choose Time
  • then choose your time frame or put in a Custom range. +Google Chrome

Chrome Extension for YouTube videos - YT Full Fill is a nice, 5-star tool for posting YouTube videos to Google Classroom or to simply show to your classes. “With YT Full Fill, you will get a new URL that removes annoying sidebar and thumbnail suggestions, as well as provides students with the largest viewing experience available. Students clicking on who knows what thanks to suggested videos will be a thing of the past with this Chrome extension! A must have for any teacher utilizing YouTube in the classroom.”

What if?
Make Duck Soup of worksheets! If you have worksheets you would like in a digital format, but don't have time to rework them just yet? Created by +Robert Boyett Duck Soup may be the answer...
  • This site uses an existing pdf or Google Doc
  • Just drag-n-drop boxes where you want answers placed
  • You put in the answers to create a Key
  • Grades it for you
  • Plays well with Google Classroom
  • You can give the students more than one try, if desired
  • It automatically saves
  • Allows the student to go back in, as needed, to finish (doesn't have to be done in one sitting)

Templates for Google Tools -  Another option to sharing a file with students and hoping you remember to have them make a copy. Or, a way to streamline the format of assignments students turn in. To access/find templates that are already created, go to docs.google.com/templates
  • click documents (or sheets, etc.) on the left
  • click public templates in the upper left
  • enter your search in the search bar at the top, i.e. "research paper"
To submit your own templates watch this video from SNHSICT (you really only need to watch from 1:31 - 4:30)  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0A_bIF4KZaw
Template Tips shared in the video are:
  • when students open a template, it will call it a "Copy of...", remind them to add their name to the title right away
  • one way to get them to the template quickly is, once you find the template you want, open a preview of it, copy the URL and send that to them via Google Classroom
  • any changes you make to a template you create, will be applied to the template in the template gallery, for that reason, it might be a good idea to create a "Templates" folder to keep them in...to prevent you from accidentally deleting or altering the file +Google for Education

Tip for booking flights and hotels from Epphany.com - “When booking a plane ticket, make sure you do it incognito! Or clear out the cookies off your browser. Ticketing sites do a sneaky thing where at first when you check the prices, it appears cheaper or of normal price. When you exit out of it, and check again another day, the price just keeps growing and growing as you keep checking! This is a marketing technique to get you to buy it quicker...an easy fix, just browse incognito or clear out your history and you’ll see prices go back to its original...also applies to booking hotels!”
